Will it Float?

In a small plastic tub filled with water several inches deep, ask your child if a little item you’ve pre-selected will float or not. For example, a coin, a little rubber ducky, a plastic spoon, a metal spoon, a comb, etc.

Through this activity you will introduce your child to the concepts of predicting outcomes, new vocabulary (“float”, “sink”, “sunk”) and basic science concepts like weight and floating.
