Greenhouse Gas Reduction

In 1997, SCE&G entered into an agreement with the United States Department of Energy to reduce greenhouse gases by 2,000,000 tons from SCE&G's projected emissions by 2000. SCE&G exceeded this goal by over 60,000 tons in just the first year of the program! The reductions are the result of several efforts, including carbon sequestration projects, ash recycling, and energy efficiency improvements.
